Supply Chain Management

Functions
The section oversees and ensures sound, sustainable and accountable procurement and purchasing function of the municipality. Proper application of the MFMA and Municipal Supply Chain Regulations in endeavour to attain a fair, equitable, transparent, competitive and cost effective procurement system, is ensured.
  1. Demand & Acquisition Management Sub-Section
    • Updating and maintenance of Supplier Registration (Database).
    • Encouraging supplier to register and update details in the Central Supplier Database.
    • Manages the acquisition and supply of various goods and services.
    • To continuously ensure an equitable, economical, transparent, fair and value – add supply chain management system/function.
    • Tenders and quotations administration.
  2. Contract & Logistics Management Sub-Section.
    • Stock Management
      1. Receiving and issuing of maintenance materials and consumables.
      2. Updating, maintenance and reconciliation of stock on hand report.
      3. Disposal of goods no longer needed.
    • Manages all procurement contracts.
      1. Updating and maintenance of contracts register.
      2. Monitoring and reporting on performance of service providers.
      3. Reporting to Municipal Council and Provincial Treasury on the implementation of the SCM Policy.
