The Department is administered under Corporate Services and the function of the Community Services Department of Nquthu Municipality is to manage the preparation and implementation of Law Enforcement Strategy, the Community Facilities within the Municipality, the provision of Housing to all Communities within the Municipality, a Home Ownership Education Programme, General Administration, the performance of Section Heads in the delivery of Municipal Services, Implementation of the Communication Strategy and Community Health Services, Disaster Management and Environmental Health Services.
